Gateron yellows used to be everyone’s first choice for a budget linear. Other manufacturers have since started making better products for cheaper. Akkos new switches are part of this. So, please don’t hop on the shitty gateron yellow wagon. Akkos new line of switches as well as JWICKS and TTC switches are some solid budget options.

the rk switches or Royal Kludge switches are just another line of mech switches that are similar to cherry kailh and gateron, but i think they are lower quality than the other brands. I have both yellow and red and both are pretty damn smooth. Yellow feels much heavier but if you don't bottom out it's actually a nice experience since the actuation force isn't that high. Depends if you like to bottom out with lighter switches or heavy. Seems silver is slightly heavier for actuation force so it'll take more to bottom out silvers. Yellow - 35gf. Silvers - 45gf.
